Originally screened as a silent projection, Pedestrian is an experimental animation that aims to explore wayfinding within the urban environment. Through abstracting directional signage and placing it within a undefined space, this series of surreal animated photographic loops attempts to deconstruct the nature of wayfinding once devoid of context. By reinterpreting each piece of signage with new life and agency, they are able forge different distinct journeys through these limitless and directionless voids that they now inhabit.

Inspired by the overwhelming nature of Akihabara, Shinjuku and the like during my first ever visit to Japan, 'Tokyoto' was born - a non-linear visual mashup of this journey. An asynchronous sensory barrage of line, shape, colour and texture from all across Japan; from Tokyo to Kyoto.
